Wrapping up

Which route is for you?

"Should I become INCOSE ASEP or CSEP?"

The INCOSE Certification route is mostly the same for everyone, irrespective of experience.

👨🏽‍🎓

You must become ASEP first

Most people must become INCOSE ASEP first, before applying to become CSEP. Unless your academic course is certified to ASEP level by 'Academic Equivalency', you must sit the INCOSE Knowledge Based Exam. The Knowledge Based Exam tests your knowledge of the INCOSE Handbook. Once you have passed the exam, you will become an Associate Systems Engineering Practitioner (ASEP).

🤴🏽

Then apply for CSEP

Once you have become ASEP, only then can you apply to become a 'Certified Systems Engineering Practitioner' (CSEP). In order to become CSEP, you must have approximately 5 years of Systems Engineering experience, in at least 3 of 11 core SE areas. The process consists of filling in an application, demonstrating your experience, providing 2 references and sitting an interview. If deemed appropriately by your assessors, you will become CSEP!

Should I study v4 or v5 of the Handbook?

Even though version 5 of the handbook has been launched, the current exam is still being tested with 'hybrid content'. Meaning, they only test common content between version 4 and 5.

A version 5 only exam will not be published until at March 25th, 2025.

Thus, our course remains version 4, (sticking to what is being tested) and we are building version 5 as we speak.

You'll have access to both versions!
